Announcing this at a press conference, Finance Minister Muftah Ismail said that petrol and diesel prices are being increased by Rs 30. The new price of petrol will be 209.30 paisa per liter.

He said that diesel will be increased by Rs 30 to Rs 204 while light diesel will be Rs 178. Kerosene prices will rise to 181.94 paise.

He said that the whole nation would face inflation but rates were being increased due to global inflation.

The finance minister said that flour would be sold for Rs 40 and sugar for Rs 70 throughout the year. Sugar and flour prices will continue to be subsidized, rice, pulses and ghee will also be subsidized for some time.

Muftah Ismail said that at that time it was compulsory to negotiate with the IMF and an agreement with the IMF would be reached by June.

He further said that Imran Khan had given subsidy to the people by violating the agreement. Since March 15, Imran Khan has set a trap.

 It may be recalled that a few days ago, the present government had increased the price of petrol by Rs 30 per liter.
