Pakistan has been removed from FATF Grey List
Dr Marcus Pleyer of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has declared that Pakistan has been removed from the Grey List. The FATF Plenary Meetings are ongoing in Berlin, according to Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar. Following the end of the sessions tonight, the FATF will release a Public Statement. It is possible and desirable to avoid prejudging the outcome of speculative reporting. On Saturday morning, the Pakistani government will hold a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to discuss the problem.
The removal of Pakistan off the FATF's grey list will be beneficial to the economy. Exiting the FATF Grey List will increase commerce with other countries.
A Pakistani team led by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar is now in Germany for a major meeting of the Financial Action Task Force, according to press sources (FATF).
Pakistan has already completed 26 of the 27 items on the action plan it agreed to in June 2018, after which Pakistan's chances of being removed off the grey list became evident.
