Johnny Depp's legal team is anticipated to summon Kate Moss as a witness.
In the ongoing trial between Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard, Kate Moss, who dated Johnny Depp in the 1990s, is set to be summoned as a rebuttal witness by his legal team.
Moss and Depp are still close, according to a source close to Depp.
Depp has sued Heard for $50 million, claiming that an op-ed she penned for the Washington Post in 2018 defamed him by falsely portraying him as an abuser.
Heard has countersued Depp for $100 million, claiming that his counsel made defamatory remarks about her abuse accusations being a "hoax."
Heard claimed on the stand that when she and her sister were in an alleged confrontation with Depp, she instantly thought about rumours about Moss.
On May 17, Heard said, "He swung at Whitney, and I'd heard a story, a hazy notion, about that."
Depp is reported in a 1998 Rolling Stone article as stating, "In chats with novelist Hunter S. Thompson, "I was with Kate, and I believe he went straight for the romantic jugular, questioning whether I had beaten her sufficiently. 'Yeah, she receives a terrible pounding,' I probably told him."
The Depp camp has no response on the Rolling Stone remark from 1998.
